Fixes the 1.0.27 production compatibility error on Steam build 26457429.
If 1.0.27 showed Attached but could not load a player or reported an unverified game build, install 1.0.28. The verified November mapping now loads in normal customer installations.
Player editing, Create a Player, bulk changes, finances, coaching, squad management, Job Offers and Fantasy Draft are updated for the new game release. Transfer individual players or a group to another domestic team, with squads expanding up to 60 players.
All three Second XI formats are available in read-only Records. Fixtures returns with schedule browsing, international series creation and three- or five-Test presets, using private future schedules for the edited career.
Franchise removal and expanded youth names are updated too. Keep the Editor attached for edited fixture careers and reapply franchise removal after restarting CC26. Second XI statistics editing and Job Offers ratings remain unavailable.
Franchise Champions League, World League, 12 Team World Test Championship, English Minor Counties and Create your own league remain temporarily unavailable.

Choose a player type, then combine it with 26 & Under if you want to narrow the list further. This release also includes the ratings, contract and franchise options from 1.0.24.

View player ratings and contracts in Cricket Captain, or remove future franchise cricket from an existing domestic save.
Turn on the new View option in the Editor. Cricket Captain player lists can then show batting and bowling ability, potential, the gap between them, contract length and annual salary. In Domestic Players, filter to ages 26 and under or choose a player type.
Use one button in Competition Designer to clear unplayed franchise fixtures and current franchise squads and affiliations. Played results and historical teams remain in your save. The Hundred is hidden from England's Tables screen while the feature is active.
Keep Cricket Captain idle on Tables while applying either option. For franchise removal, use Save Only before and after, keep the Editor running, and work on a copy of your save. After restarting Cricket Captain, load the career and apply again before Continue.

134 clubs, four competitions, player ratings and Test schedules tailored to your career.
Manage any of 134 clubs across ten-division first-class and T20 leagues, the World One-day Cup and World T10. Promotion, relegation, prize money and rest days shape each season. Other domestic and franchise competitions are suspended in this setup.
Separate T10 statistics, records and partnerships sit alongside World competition statistics. Tables include a History view with past champions and running title counts, while club Performance tracks your progress.
A sortable in-game view shows age, batting ability and potential, and bowling ability and potential on fixed 0–100 scales. World clubs use the English wage scale and signing window, with £900,000 basic annual income and performance-based prizes.
Choose three-, four- or five-Test targets, countries, seasons and rest days. Preview what fits, then apply to your saved, unplayed career on 1 April. Existing matches and white-ball internationals are protected. Private future schedules belong to that career.
For World League, start a fresh England career on Easy or Very Easy and keep Tables open on 1 April during setup. Keep the updated Editor open while playing and before loading custom careers. Save in Cricket Captain and retain your backups and local recovery files.
Multi-season testing continues. Test preset save/reload checks passed; future-season rollover still needs gameplay testing. These custom setups are not verified for transfer to another PC.

Simpler ability controls, separate bowling accuracy adjustments, and fixes for custom careers and tri-series.
The Ability workbench brings ability, potential, fielding, catching and match adjustments together. Choose Improve or Reduce, pick a preset or your own amount, then review before applying. Red-ball and white-ball bowling accuracy have separate controls.
Save Only and Save & Exit now include the extra competition files inside your .cap save. With the updated Editor running, manually save immediately before copying the file. Install Editor 1.0.22 or newer on the other PC and open it before starting Cricket Captain. Keep the Editor running while playing.
Automatic saves continue using local recovery files. Older saves and backups need their original recovery files until you load and manually save them again on a PC where the career works. Restart Cricket Captain after updating to enable portable manual saves.
Fixed a problem where adding an international tri-series could close Cricket Captain when starting a new career. Remove and recreate an affected Editor-created tri-series with this update. If it is not in your created-series list, restore its fixture backup first.

Outdated player details remembered by the Editor no longer block squad actions.
Fixed an issue where the Editor connected your squad but refused fitness or form changes because older player details conflicted with your current save. Squad actions now use verified details from the game you have loaded.
The same correction covers Auto Coaching preview and assignments, including All practice and Under-25 technique / 25+ practice. Existing squad checks and Undo controls remain available.
Continue with your existing save. There is no need to start a new career or delete saved player information. Open the full Squad page for fitness and form, or Coach & Physio for Auto Coaching, then reopen the game screen after applying changes.
This update also corrects the missing 1.0.20 release date in the Editor's Versions tab. Close the Editor and Cricket Captain before installing the update from your account.

A new County Championship pyramid brings all 38 counties into one career.
Start your Minor County in Division 3 or 4 and climb towards the County Championship. Every club plays 14 four-day matches, with two promoted and two relegated between neighbouring divisions each season. Funding, prize money and youth development reflect your division.
All 38 counties enter the One Day Cup and T20 Blast in four regional groups. The top two in each group reach the quarter-finals. Tables show last season's division and finishing position, and the Team screen lets you browse every county.
Choose the pyramid in Competition Designer when starting a fresh England career on Easy or Very Easy. The original real-life Minor Counties option keeps its existing competitions and rules. Keep the Editor running while playing; use Resume support before loading a saved pyramid career.
This update also improves team records, season summaries, competition processing and recognition of high-ability players. Partnership records build from new matches; older partnership details cannot be recovered.
Close the Editor and Cricket Captain before updating through Versions or downloading the latest installer from your account.

Better squad connection and player recovery for affected careers.
A few players missing from the Player Database no longer have to block the whole squad. The Editor can recover and verify their records from the loaded game, with faster scans and better connection after loading a career.
Recovered players are included with their role and age, supporting both coaching modes and your all-rounder choices. The Editor adds the coaching sessions needed and verifies each assignment.
Open the full Squad page for fitness and form, or Coach & Physio for Auto Coaching. Reopen the relevant game screen after applying changes. The Editor still stops if it cannot reliably identify the complete squad.

Auto Coaching, squad fitness and form controls, and simpler ability and potential editing.
Assign batting or bowling practice across the squad, or choose General Technique for under-25s and practice for older players. Choose each all-rounder's focus, preview the assignments and apply them together. Set all sessions to 15 remains a separate control.
Set squad fitness and batting/bowling form to maximum or minimum, with separate undo controls. Squad Editor adds sortable batting and bowling growth-left columns to show each player's remaining rating gap.
Increase or decrease each batting and bowling rating independently, or improve ability to stored potential. Players already above potential stay unchanged. Preview changes before applying them and undo your last edit. Player DB rankings now recover after a background refresh.
Rename an existing player without replacing their career record or changing other players who share their name. Set separate base fielding and catching ratings from 0 to 15. Independent rename requires Steam build 25566061; base-rating effects and save/reload persistence of these new options are still being checked.
Close the Editor and Cricket Captain before updating. Update through Versions in the Editor or download the latest installer from your account. Existing competition features and their compatibility requirements remain unchanged.

Save-loading support, a fix for fresh-career Preview and broader full-squad fitness support.
The Editor remembers your selected Minor Counties recovery and prepares it before loading. Creating a fresh England career no longer leaves Preview waiting for an older save. Champions League support respects the selected career and remains enabled per save.
Complete, validated smaller squads can now use Squad Fitness. Open the full Squad page first. Team, roster and save checks remain in place, with readback and Undo; partial squads and a selected XI remain blocked.
Close the Editor and Cricket Captain before updating. Open the updated Editor before starting the game and loading a custom career. Update through Versions or download the latest installer from your account. All 1.0.16 features remain included.
The reported black-ground graphics issue remains under investigation; this release does not include a permanent graphics fix.

See whether the current save is enabled, not enabled or unavailable. Enable it explicitly for an eligible franchise-only career. County and international careers now receive a clear explanation.

Champions League, expanded youth names, feature requests and a fix for the What's new popup.
Eight franchise champions play a T20 knockout: four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final. A fresh 2026 career starts with selected real-world champions; later editions use league winners from your career. Switch from Test Championship to Champions League in the game to view fixtures, the draw, winners and runners-up.
Add 1,763 first names and 3,000 surnames across 12 countries for future youth players. Enable once in Competition Designer and the Editor remembers your choice. Existing players keep their names, and you can restore the original name pools at any time.
Click Request a feature beside Report an issue, write your idea, add optional screenshots and send it to CC Scout support.
Got it and Escape now close the What's new popup immediately, even if remembering your choice fails. You can read the notes again in Versions.
Champions League is experimental: try a spare Easy or Very Easy career first. Champions League and expanded names require the supported Steam build 25566061. Keep the Editor open before starting the game and loading an enabled career, and keep its local cup recovery files with your save. Expanded names are restored while the Editor is open and attached.
Update through Versions in the Editor or download the latest installer. All v1.0.14 features remain included.

Competition Designer adds a 12-team World Test Championship and English Minor Counties.
Choose two divisions over two seasons with promotion and relegation, or one league over three seasons. Both include a March final, rotating hosts and a separate Ashes series. Set future youth ability and potential for each country.
Manage any of 20 National Counties alongside the existing first-class counties. Play Championship, one-day Trophy and T20 cricket with annual youth intakes, club funding, recruitment limits and new fixtures each season.
These presets support Steam build 25566061. Start a fresh Easy or Very Easy career, save on 1 April, then Preview and Apply from Competition Designer. Keep the editor running during custom careers and restore support before loading them after a game restart. Existing players are unchanged by future-youth settings.

2026.02 is the earlier Editor mapping label; 26457429 is the supported Steam build ID for this compatibility release. These are separate from the Editor version. Check the build status on the Editor Dashboard after attaching.
Further testing required: Franchise Champions League, World League, 12 Team World Test Championship, English Minor Counties, Create your own league are greyed out in 1.0.28. Other Editor tools remain available.
After a CC26 update: compatibility is not automatic. Some or all editing features may stop working. Writes are blocked for unverified builds.
After a new Cricket Captain release, please allow me a few days to rebuild and verify the Editor for that version.
Check Versions → Check for updates in the Editor. If it still reports an unverified build, use Report an issue to send diagnostics, or contact support.
