How CC Scout collects, uses, protects and deletes personal information.

Policy version privacy-2026-09-06-r4 · Published 6 September 2026

CC Scout is operated by Robert Taylor, trading as CC Scout, a New Zealand sole trader responsible for your personal information. For privacy questions or requests, contact us or email r.taylor289@gmail.com.

Information we collect and why

We use account, membership and usage information to provide CC Scout, secure accounts, manage subscriptions, answer support requests and improve our products.

Registration requires your display name, email, password, country, age band, platform, game version, interests and experience level. Account details support sign-in and membership administration; player-profile details help us understand our users and improve our content. Registration cannot be completed without the required fields. We ask for an age band, not your date of birth. The form also requires matching password confirmation; confirmation is not stored in your profile.

You must accept the Terms, acknowledge this notice and choose Yes or No to newsletters. Newsletter subscription is optional, and choosing No does not prevent registration. Leaving the newsletter choice unanswered prevents registration. We record your choices and policy acknowledgements. You can withdraw newsletter consent through an unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

We also keep account verification and sign-in records, subscription and payment-status information, and messages you send to support. Payment details are not required for a free account. Stripe handles card payments; CC Scout does not store complete card details or plaintext passwords.

Buy Me a Coffee memberships

We use manually downloaded Buy Me a Coffee membership records, including contact email, status and membership dates, to check legacy Stats Pack access and match verified CC Scout accounts.

We retain access and reconciliation records needed to review imports, correct mistakes and recover interrupted processing. The original export may also be retained during this work. Unmatched entries do not grant access.

This process does not subscribe you to newsletters or merge your BMC and Stripe subscriptions. We provide additional collection notices where required. Contact us if your membership details need correcting.

Your files and Editor data

Private Stats Pack uploads are not available to other members. Authorised operators and service providers may access them when necessary for support, maintenance, security or legal purposes.

We attempt to delete original uploads after processing. Choosing Clear save & exit requests deletion. Sessions expire after two hours without activity; physical deletion follows through cleanup processes and may take longer. Storage lifecycle cleanup provides an additional safeguard.

The Windows Editor keeps game memory, local saves, backups and exports on your PC. CC Scout receives device-identification, application-version and licence-validation information needed to manage access.

Files you deliberately submit for community sharing are different: approved files, descriptions and contributor details become available to signed-in members.

Usage analytics and browser storage

We measure page visits, selected buttons and links, registration, payments, downloads and product use to understand where journeys succeed or fail. Reporting includes broad device, sign-in, verification, subscription and access categories.

For signed-in users, pseudonymous identifiers connect journey steps across tabs or devices within a reporting window of up to 30 days. Signed-out journeys are not retrospectively linked to accounts. We also maintain private account-linked usage summaries for support and service administration.

We do not use session replay, keystroke recording or third-party advertising analytics. Analytics excludes form contents, passwords, payment credentials and private save content or paths.

Browser storage maintains sign-in, security checks, temporary sessions and preferences. Clearing it may sign you out or reset preferences. Authentication, security and billing providers may also use cookies or similar storage.

Service providers

Google Firebase and Google Cloud support hosting, authentication, storage and processing. Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise helps prevent abuse. Stripe handles billing, Buy Me a Coffee supplies legacy membership records, and our email provider handles support correspondence. GitHub supports software releases and YouTube hosts linked videos.

Providers may process information outside New Zealand. We take the steps required by New Zealand privacy law to protect information handled overseas.

How long we retain information

  • Private Stats Pack files follow the temporary processing and cleanup arrangements above.
  • New journey reporting uses a fixed 30-day window. Temporary progress and retry records become eligible for deletion within the applicable 31-day limits; physical cleanup may occur later. Aggregate statistics without account or journey identifiers may remain.
  • Support records and mailbox copies are retained for no longer than one year unless needed for an unresolved dispute, security incident or legal obligation. Server records have a one-year expiry for asynchronous cleanup. Mailbox copies require separate operator review and cleanup; database expiry does not delete those copies.
  • Account information remains while your account is active and as reasonably needed afterward. Necessary billing and accounting records may remain for up to seven years.
  • Legacy imports, older analytics, usage summaries and audit records do not all have automatic deletion. We review their continuing necessity, including during account closure.
  • Published community files remain until withdrawn or removed.

Your choices and rights

You can request access to your information, corrections, account closure or deletion of information no longer needed. We may verify your identity and explain any information we must retain or cannot provide. You can ask us to attach a correction statement if a requested correction is not made.

Contact us to make a request. Account closure, subscription cancellation and refunds are separate actions; we will confirm what you need. You may also complain to the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner.

We investigate privacy incidents and notify affected people and authorities when required.

CC Scout is not directed at children under 13. Parents or guardians should contact us with concerns about a child’s information.

Updates

We retain previous policy versions, show when this notice changes and bring material changes to users’ attention before using information for a new incompatible purpose.
