Version 1.0.27 could show Attached but fail to load a player or the current-save Player Database. It incorrectly reported the supported November game build as unverified. This was an Editor release error, and we are sorry for the disruption.
What changed
Version 1.0.28 enables the verified Cricket Captain 2026 v26.5 mapping, Steam build 26457429, in normal customer installations. That mapping was included in 1.0.27 but its automatic selection was mistakenly restricted to local testing builds.
The existing game-build and difficulty checks remain in place. The features and restrictions described in the 1.0.27 update are otherwise unchanged.
Install the fix
Close the Editor and install 1.0.28 from your Account or the normal update prompt. Reopen the Editor, attach to CC26, open a player profile in the game and select Load active player.
Keep your existing save and recovery backups. Player and team editing require a supported Easy or Very Easy career; Normal mode retains View and Fixtures access.
